Star
Hopping with SkyTools 3
Star
hopping with SkyTools is easy using the Telescope/Binocular
simulations. These charts display up to three views: a
simulated eyepiece view, finding device view, and naked-eye
context view. The charts accurately simulate
orientations, fields of view, and limiting magnitudes.
Each view closely matches what you can see, eliminating the need
to flip the chart, match only the stars visible, or tediously
hand-place FOV circles.

Whether
printed and taken into the field or displayed on a laptop, these
charts make star hopping a simple, three-step process.
Start with the naked eye view to point your finding device, move
to the finder view to point your telescope, and the move to the
eyepiece view to locate the object.
