Clearly I don't have a good understanding how the Scheduler works.

So, how do I get a Project to schedule over multiple nights? What controls govern doing such? Can you set a date range or something?

I can only get a single night schedule (obviously tonight is very limited due to Moon which is correct). The Lagoon neb has scheduled correctly for tonight, but no other nights. The Orion neb won't schedule tonight, as it has already set, but what about other nights?

Thanks
Bob

Hello Bob,

The Scheduler is designed to be used one night at a time. One of the reasons for this, is that you can't track the progress made on your projects until you have taken the images. The progress made tonight informs what will be scheduled tomorrow, and so on. It helps to understand that the purpose of the scheduler, and indeed the whole ST4 system, is to obtain the highest quality images of your targets. That means it doesn't work well if you try to force it to make observations of a target that is not well placed for observation on that night. Instead, use the tools together to find suitable targets for your projects for tonight, or better yet, find suitable targets and create many projects, then let the Scheduler tell you winch ones to work on tonight.

By the way, I am working on the new workflow tutorials this week, and hope to have several available soon. How the Scheduler is used, and even if you use it at all, heavily depends on your equipment (which determines the workflow).
Thanks for the explanation, and I look forward to the new tutorials.

Cheers
