I am just starting to use this product today so bear with me as I continue to learn this product.
I have my Target List specified as 'Messier' yet I see objects for the winter listed. How can I tell SkyHound to only list certain objects this type of year using some kind of filter?
Thanks.
Hello,
Which version are you asking about? SkyTools Visual or SkyTools Imaging? We need that to know what resources to direct you to.
Here are some general pointers: Click the Help menu at the top of the window and you will see links to tutorials. Also, look for a Help button on the right side of the window. It will lead you to a page with basic instructions.
I am running SkyTools 4 for Imaging. I can't reproduce the problem as I was seeing M44 earlier so I am assuming that software will only list images currently in the sky. So I checked the night filter box and I did not get anything since it's currently daylight.
The night filters are not affected by the current time (daylight). Did you read the instructions and view the tutorials? We need to get you to a basic understanding of how the filters work, and its too much to relate in a simple message. Once you have read the instructions, please ask again.
Also: there aren't really any "Winter" objects, if you can image all night long. The idea of seasonal constellations only applies to the evening hours. The winter constellations come along before dawn in the summer. The exception is those parts of the sky very close to the current position of the sun. So be careful about the time of night when you consider if an object can be imaged now.
