Full Version: Delete the "eyepiece fov circle" in the IA.

To demonstrate I actually do read the Help occasionally, the IA help states "Depress the Eyepiece View button to open the Eyepiece Viewer. Press again to hide it. Once opened the first time, a circle will appear on the atlas that represents the field of view seen in the eyepiece (as defined on the viewer)."

Can the circle referenced above (that appears in the IA) be deleted?

Cheers

Hello Bob,

The circle will stay as long as the atlas is open. One way to get rid of it is to close the atlas, and then use the Open Last Chart menu item on the Tools menu to open it back up again. Its usually a good bet that people want the circle to remain if they opened the Eyepiece View. Some only use the circle, and the Eyepiece View window only serves to select which eyepiece to display. But you can drag it to a different position, if its getting in your way for some reason. This may be one of those tell me why you want something situations. Did you open the Eyepiece View and were annoyed that the eyepiece circle didn't go away when you closed it, or it is getting in the way for some other functional reason?

By the way, I if you have a telescope connected, and set the Eyepiece View to "Lock to" the telescope, then you can drag the circle on the screen to reposition the telescope, which I always get a kick out of.
