Full Version: N.I.N.A. Sequences Expect Filter Wheels and Rotators

Unless I'm doing something wrong, it appears Sequences sent over to N.I.N.A. will stop and prompt on each target asking for the rotator and filter to be set.  I don't have an auto-rotator, nor even a filter wheel, so this was an issue for me, especially with dozens of targets in the sequence. Maybe the Schedule's Plan Settings could have check boxes to disable the need for filters and rotation, if needed.  But for now, I came up with an easy workaround.  Simply select and connect to the Filter Wheel Simulator [.Net] in and Rotator Simulator .Net in N.I.N.A, then the sequence will flow without interruption.

Anyone else encounter this?

Hello,

It sounds like your configuration for your Imaging System isn't set up without the rotator. Open your Imaging Systems, select yours, and click the Control System button. This is where you tell it whether or not you have a rotator. Once it is turned off you should no longer be prompted.

Regarding the filter wheel, this one may be a setting in N.I.N.A. rather than SkyTools. I'm not 100% certain. There may be something about the way SkyTools writes the N.I.N.A. sequences that is causing this, but I strongly suspect it is your N.I.N.A. configuration that is at fault.

Have a look at this video:

Please let me know what you discover or if you continue to have problems.
Ah, yes, I had to go deselect the rotator in the Imaging System, and that solved that prompt. Not sure yet about the filter warning, but I am not seeing it in SIM mode, so I think I did resolve that in NINA, just as you suspected.

Thanks again.
