Import iTelescope Imaging Systems

I did notice in ST4 Visual the iTelescopes seem to be there (I think). For instance, there is a Planewave CDK 20 that has "T59" in parentheses. Most of them do not have a T designation but the telescopes look correct...lots of Planewaves, Takahashis, RASAs, etc. But these are not showing up in ST4 Imaging. Also, none of the iTelescope locations are appearing in either Visual or Imaging.

Thanks,
Brian

If there was an error downloading and installing the iTelescopes, it would have appeared in the notifications. Let's check your imaging systems. Please open SkyTools Imaging and open the imaging systems dialog. Let me know how many imaging systems you have installed. Click on one and make a small temporary change, maybe change the mount type or something. When it close, watch for any errors to occur.

Its normal for OTAs (Optical Tube Assemblies) to appear in Visual because they are stored in the same database. So maybe you had the iTelescopes at one time? Or maybe they are left over for some other reason. I don't think they were in the database that is shipped with a new install, but its possible. Either way, I don't think it matters.

After I did the upgrade from ST4.0 to ST4.1 Imaging, I had to subscribe to the iTelescopes manually. They weren't included as part of the default installation for me.

Maybe I'm an oddball case though.

Hope this helps,

Phil S.

Hi Greg,

I have been using iTelescope with SkyTools for a number of years, not sure why they're not loading/updating just now. I did a couple things just now, which didn't have any effect:
1) Upgraded to ST 4.1 hoping that might correct it...nope
2) I only have my private telescope and location in my lists, but I updated my private telescope settings - no errors
3) Restarted ST Imaging. The splash screen said "Updating iTelescope data" but didn't bring anything in. Nothing about iTelescope appeared in the notifications.
4) It does look like ST Visual is getting updated, just not Imaging. I can see some telescopes in Visual that look new since I last used iTelescope, e.g., Celestron 11" RASA.

Any other things to try? Is there a way to import them from a file vs. through the subscription function?

Thanks,
Brian

Hello Brian,

I appreciate you patience. I am super perplexed.

We could get you up and running by emailing you the files. Send me an email at support at skyhound dot com and I will send them to you. Unfortunately that's not going to fix the problem in the long run, as you will not see any of the updates I make as time goes on.

I am going to release an update, hopefully in the next few days. At that time I could email you a special version that will generate a debugging file to allow me to trace the problem.
Clear skies,
Greg
