Hello
I've been away from Skytools for a while and need some help with the event finder and calendar.
I used to use the Calendar all the time, however I can no longer find it. I've read the help sections on it, but still can't locate the button which will display the Calendar.
Also, every time I use the event finder it defaults to the Mesa Redonda Observatory. Even after I have entered my own location and generated events. If I switch to another tab and then return to the Event Finder, it again displays the Mesa Redonda Observatory.
I can't seem to delete that location, nor can I see a way to default the event finder to my location.
Any help with these two issues would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello,
The Current Events feature is delayed because it due to a big redesign. It is expected to be included in the version 4.1 update later this year.
As for your issue with the Events tab, something seems to have become corrupted. If you are running an anti-virus other than Windows Defender, check its setting to make sure that it is properly allowing SkyTools to access all of its files.
Here are some things to try first for a fix:
1. Open the Preferences via the top-level Setup menu
2. Click Reset Defaults
SkyTools will close and you will lose some of your current selections, but none of your custom data
If that does not work:
1. Find your "SkyTools 4" folder, which is usually located here:
C:\Users\"your user name"\AppData\Roaming\Skyhound\SkyTools 4
2. Navigate to the subfolder called events
3. Delete all of the files in that folder. They will have names like "Mesa Redondo.bin"
Let me know if neither of these things resolves the problem.

I have the same problem. Every time I use the event finder it defaults to the Mesa Redonda Observatory.
After deleting the files in the Event folder it defaults to the Mesa Redonda Observatory.
It's been that way for a long time.

Hello,
Phil, thanks for responding but this is really a support issue rather than a question, so please let me handle it from here.
Its normal for it to default to Mesa Rendonda when you delete all of the locations. It has to use something as a default so there would be something loaded, and that was the first location defined, so that's it. Mesa Redonda is not the problem.
What is not normal is for you to not be able to change it, or for it to not save the last location you selected, or for you to lose your events. I think I may know what's happened. I am looking into and there is an update in the works. It should be fixed in the update.

Thanks Greg.
The suggestions you gave didn't work for me, so I will wait for that update.

I have isolated and fixed the problem for the impending update. When you switch away from the Event Finder and back again, the events for the previous location are displayed properly. The error is in the location that is displayed in the menu, which is no longer correct. Until the update, to be sure that you still have the events for the right location, right-click on an event and open the Interactive Atlas. The event location will be displayed at the top of the atlas.

One other problem I have with the Event Finder. I can't seem to change the Visible before or after time. They are always grayed out, even with the boxes checked.
Am I doing something wrong?
