SkyTools 4 Imaging Beta Test

General Imaging with SkyTools Real Time

Skyhound is looking for a few good software testers!

This round of testing is for astro-imagers who will use SkyTools Real Time to control their telescope mount via ASCOM.

SkyTools 4 Imaging is powerful software for Windows designed to help plan and carry out your imaging.

SkyTools 4 uses an entirely new scientific model to predict the signal that will be recorded for any object. The Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) can be accurately estimated, which is used in many unique and powerful ways to plan your observations. SkyTools 4 also debuts an entirely new way to plan, observe and archive your observations.

Before you volunteer, keep in mind that this is not a public early software release. Please do not volunteer only to satisfy your curiosity. As a Beta tester you will become part of our development team. Taking part will often require several hours per week. Testers will at times be given tasks and asked to report back with the results. You may be asked to find certain SkyTools files on your computer and send them to us.

As a member of our team your feedback will matter. You will have the opportunity to influence the final version by suggesting changes, new features, and by pointing out shortcomings. Testers who contribute significantly to SkyTools 4 will receive a free copy of the final release of the the SkyTools 4 product that they took part in testing, and their participation will be recognized in the software documentation.

Testing will be coordinated via an email list and/or the Skyhound Forums, where private Beta Testing forums have been created.

  • Several hours per week available for testing
