It looks like it might be possible for me to send images to a version of astrometry.net installed locally on your computer, which would be more convenient and reliable. But I am not at all certain about the legalities. Open source programmers can be incredibly snobbish when it comes to people like me, who make a living from software development. They often consider us evil. The rules often don't make any distinction between, say, Microsoft, and a small developer.
