Hi
I entered some brief notes and they displayed ok until I added another target.
The notes still exist but are not displayed with "Show All (read only)" selected.
How do I make them visible in the list without selecting each one and choosing "My Attachments"
thanks
Mick

Hello,
You mentioned "Show All (read only)" so I gather from that you are asking about the Object Information window. But you mention adding another target... that''s not something you do with the Object Info. Can I ask you to describe the problem with some more specifics? I don't have enough to go on. For example, you say "visible" but I don't know where you want them to be visible. E.g. in an observing list?

Hi Mick,
I think that you can choose the 'Attachments' folder that you want to use at the upper right of the Nightly Planner (NP) page. If you put all of the Notes in 'My Attachments' then select that one. The Briefs only show when the appropriate Attachment folder is selected. If you set the 'Show All (Read Only)' option you'll only see what you've entered in the main Notes section, but not the Brief entry.
Have you looked at the Help?
Hope this helps,
Phil S.

Hello Mick,
What's confusing me is that the Object Info and Nightly Planner are separate tools; adding an object to a list should not affect the Object Info. Changing the selection on the Object Info has no effect on the planner.
I tried adding some objects to a list and it didn't affect the selected attachments folder, as intended. Is it possible you changed the attachments folder from "My attachments" to something else?
If you open the Object Info via a right-click on an object in the planner, it will automatically inherit the attachments folder selection from the planner. So if you have "My attachments" set in the planner, and open the Object Info in this way, it will have "My Attachments" selected on the Object Info. If you open the Object Info in some other way, say from a chart, or the Designation Search Tool, it doesn't know what attachments folder to use, so it defaults to "show all," where it will display all of the notes from all folders for this object. Because there isn't enough space, it can't show all of the note briefs (one for each attachments folder) so it remains blank in this case.

Greg,
Thanks for the explanation.
I guess it must be "user error".
It was the Brief notes feature that persuaded me to switch from ST3 (after 8 years)
so I expect these teething troubles will disappear soon.
regards
Mick
