SkyTools 3 System Requirements

SkyTools 3 is fully compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Vista (both 32 and 64 bit versions).  Also compatible with Windows XP/98/NT4/2000 or a Mac running a Windows emulator (see below). 

Minimum system requirements: Pentium II or Atom processor, a minimum screen resolution of 800x600.  Requires a minimum of approximately 20MB of hard disk space if run from the CD;  650 MB of hard drive space is required for download version or full install from CD.

Optional access to the Professional Edition extended star data requires 4.8 GB of hard drive space.

Recommended system: Any modern desktop or laptop computer with 512 MB of RAM and at least 650 MB of available hard drive space.

Real Time requirements: ASCOM 5, a freely available third party telescope control standard platform.  Note that ASCOM 5 regrettably no longer supports Windows 98 (or SE/ME).

Need to run SkyTools on a Mac?  Consider a Windows emulator.  Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac lets you seamlessly run Windows and Mac OS X side-by-side.  Other products that work well with SkyTools are VMware Fusion and CrossOver.
