How to Obtain Skytools 4.1

I'm confused.

I am running Skytools Professional 4.0.11.13 which does not include the new transparency settings.

However, Skytools doesn't tell me that there is a new version available.

How does one get Skytools 4.1

Hi Phil,

I'm running ST4.1.11.12 and that version didn't give a notice about the new 4.1.11.13 version when I started ST4 Visual today (maybe the 4.x.11.13 version just came out?). To upgrade from ST4.0 to ST4.1, I think you'll need to go to the Skyhound website. You can go to the Skyhound website via the 'Setup' > 'Updates, Registration and Feedback' option then click the 'www.skyhound.com' button.

Alternatively, if you have SkyTools running, open the 'Setup' menu and choose the 'Upgrade your product' option. That should tell you how to upgrade, too.

There is no way to upgrade at the web site. Its all done inside SkyTools 4.

For anyone wondering, to see all of your upgrade options, and to choose to upgrade, start SkyTools 4, either version. Select "Upgrade Your Product" from the top level Setup menu.

I'm missing something. I upgraded/updated from 4.0 something on my old desktop. It went to 4.1 something with the titan shadow transits working.

I've now had the desktop w10 unit fail with some glitch on the mobo.

The laptop is running 4.0.11.17 but seems unable to get/update to 4.1 with the Titan shadow feature.

What am I missing? When I try the upgrade, it wants to sell me a bundle. I do not recall getting any bundle when I did the 4.0-4.1 thing on the old desktop. Again, what is needed?

Hello,

That's difficult to understand because you wither have 4.1 on that device or you don't. If you do it will say version 4.1... in the About dialog. If you don't it will provide the option to order it in the Upgrade our Product dialog. At least that's how its supposed to work. I'm concerned because I don't understand why.

But we should be able to fix it:

1. Open SkyTools on your working 4.1 device and open the About SkyTools dialog. Write down the fill license number.

2. On the other device, use add/remove programs to uninstall SkyTools 4

3. Download the setup file on the other device:
https://skyhound.com/dl/st4/SkyTools4Setup.exe

4. Start the installer and install again, but this time supply the license you wrote down.

In order to do what you have instructed would require me using the old desktop (failed mobo) w10 clone on my w11 laptop. Not good. I will install the SkyTools4Setup.exe and use the email address and serial number exactly as they appear in the original email for version 4.

It seemed to work and installed 4.0.11. Then gave the option to update to 4.0.11.17.

The only option after that was a paywall fora bundle to buy 4.1

I did not encounter this with the old desktop to get the Saturn moon shadows.

All is well now. The serial# for 4.1 was on a dead desktop. Head Dude got this all worked out.
